Whether you’re a chronic pain sufferer, a spinal surgery patient, or an adult dealing with a spinal disc injury, this guide will provide valuable insights and help you explore your options.

Understanding Bulging and Herniated Discs

Bulging and herniated discs occur when the intervertebral discs—a cushion-like structure between the bones of your spine—become misaligned or damaged. These discs play a crucial role in allowing spinal movement and acting as shock absorbers. When they are compromised, you may experience pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness in your arms or legs.

What Are Non-Surgical Treatments?

The DRX 9000 spinal decompression treatment aims to alleviate pain and improve mobility without invasive procedures. This non-surgical method is ideal for individuals looking to avoid the risks and recovery time of surgery, offering excellent results for spinal disc injuries at Innovation Health.

Introducing the DRX 9000 Spinal Decompression Treatment

For those looking for help for bulging and herniated disc issues, the DRX 9000 Spinal Decompression Treatment offers a revolutionary solution. This advanced technology uses sophisticated methods to safely lengthen and heal the spine, reducing pressure on compressed nerves and repairing injured spinal discs.

What is the DRX 9000?

The DRX 9000 is a non-surgical spinal decompression machine designed to treat severe spinal injuries. It works by gently stretching the spine, creating negative pressure within the discs. This helps to retract the bulging or herniated disc material, allowing it to return to its normal position and promoting healing.

Who Can Benefit from the DRX 9000?

This treatment is ideal for individuals suffering from:

  • Pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness in their arms or legs
  • Degenerative disc disease, protruding, bulging, or herniated spinal discs
  • Discogenic pain or spinal stenosis
  • Those seeking alternatives to surgery or addictive medications

The DRX 9000 Treatment Process

  1. Initial Assessment: The process begins with a thorough assessment to determine the extent of your spinal issues and suitability for the treatment.
  2. Customized Treatment Plan: Based on the assessment, a customized treatment plan is created to address your specific needs.
  3. Decompression Sessions: During each session, you’ll lie comfortably on the DRX 9000 machine while it gently stretches your spine. Each session typically lasts 30-45 minutes.
  4. Monitoring and Adjustments: Your progress is closely monitored, and adjustments are made to ensure optimal results.

Benefits of the DRX 9000

  1. Pain Relief: By reducing pressure on the spinal discs and nerves, the DRX 9000 can provide significant pain relief.
  2. Non-Invasive: Unlike surgery, this treatment is non-invasive, meaning no incisions, anesthesia, or lengthy recovery times.
  3. Enhanced Healing: The decompression process promotes the natural healing of spinal discs, leading to long-term improvements.

The Science Behind Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression works on the principle of negative intra-discal pressure. When the spine is gently stretched, it creates a vacuum effect within the discs. This negative pressure helps to retract bulging and herniated disc material, drawing it back into place. Additionally, the increased space allows for better nutrient and oxygen flow to the discs, promoting healing and regeneration.

Why Choose A Non-Surgical Treatment?

Opting for non-surgical treatments offers several advantages:
  • Reduced Risk: A non-surgical method carries fewer risks compared to surgical procedures, which can have complications such as infections or adverse reactions to anesthesia.
  • Shorter Recovery Time: With non-surgical treatment, you can avoid the lengthy recovery periods associated with surgery, allowing you to return to your daily activities sooner.
  • Holistic Approach: Non-surgical treatment focuses on overall wellness, addressing not just the symptoms you have but also the underlying causes of the spinal issues.

Real-Life Success Stories

Many individuals have experienced life-changing relief through our non-surgical treatments at Innovation Health in Charlotte, NC, like the DRX 9000. Here are a few success stories:

Journey to Pain-Free LivingMr. John H, age 72

I was in a constant state of pain for four months before beginning decompression therapy with Dr Wolf. My pain level varied between 7/10 on good days and 9.5/10 on other days.

My pain was exhaustion, and most nights were filled with interrupted sleep. Walking upright was difficult, so I contorted to find some angle that I could shuffle along without raising the level of pain that was present from my hips to my toes; I was not enjoying my Golden Years at all, to say the least.

My condition was getting so bad that both surgeons I went to for opinions told me my ONLY option was fusion surgery from L2 to L5 and maybe the SI joint, too. Both surgeons said it was necessary to stabilize the back and “attempt to slow the inevitable deterioration,”… and they said there may not be ANY reduction in the pain.

Mix with my opinions in 2002 when my back pain was so bad I underwent an L3-4 laminectomy surgery that was supposed to “make me good as new.” Twenty-two weeks later, I was finally able to reduce the pain medication enough to be a safe driver and return to work. Then, six months later, I was back in for a second surgery to clean up the scar tissue and reduce the new pain set.

The benefits I’ve received from the DRX decompression treatment were more than I ever expected. With my MRIs and X-rays in hand attesting to a near-perfect structural MESS, I was expecting, at most, a respite in my pain, but not enough to make a big difference in my life.

Within a couple of weeks, my pain subsided to around 4/10, and even more importantly, it was centering in the lower back and hips and NOT playing havoc with the legs and feet. After a month, the pain shrunk to a golf ball size and dropped to a level of 2-3/10 in pain.

This allowed me to begin exercising. I was getting stronger, eating better, and sleeping through the night again. My balance was returning, and I could now see the quality of my life returning.

I recommend this treatment to anybody suffering from back pain. Unless you are not a candidate for decompression… Let the cutters be an act of last resort.

The treatment is so logical. You have to be willing to go through the program, but once your pain subsides and your body gets a chance to heal, an amazing thing happens. Your body quietly accepts being in a new state of balance, and all pain subdues to maybe a 1/10 or less due to tight shoes or overeating beyond your belt!

Know what the machine is supposed to do, then do your part to NOT fall into bad habits that may have created the problems and your future will be quite pleasant. I know mine has!

Recovery from Severe Low Back Disc Injury – Mr. Bob L , Age 63:

Before the DRX treatment, I was considered a strong candidate for spinal lumbar fusion. I have three herniated discs putting pressure against the spinal column and the nerves running through that area. My L5 vertebrae had slid forward with very little disc material left in that location. I was able to get rid of the extreme pain 4 months before going to Innovation Health through an epidural injection but that was mostly short term and the pain returned. I was told that the only way I would eliminate the pain was through surgery. When I started treatment at Innovation Health, I had sciatic pain in my hips, lower back pain, and numbness in my left leg ( knee and thigh area). Just simple turning of the hips, bending, and walking straight were some of the issues I was dealing with on a daily basis. I had constant stiffness and soreness throughout my lower back; I was dealing with the pain daily and trying to minimize it as best I could through heavy medication.

After a consultation visit, showing Dr. Wolf my MRI, and doing a few chiropractic adjustments, we started treatment with the DRX9000 nonsurgical spinal decompression. After the first ten sessions, I went from a daily pain level of 4-5/10 down to a 1/10. With the amount of damage I have to my back, there really is no miracle cure. I still suffer some minimal tightness, stiffness, and numbness at times, but the benefits of doing this treatment far outweighed the reality of fusing the lumbar spine together and surgically repairing the bad discs.

What I like about Innovation Health is that they were not only concerned about my back as chiropractors, but they were also very concerned and have helped me with my health and lifestyle. Poor eating habits and lack of proper exercise over the years have added weight to my body and have really messed up my back and body internally.

Seeing both Dr Wolf and Dr Pepper has got me on track to a better lifestyle of healthy living, proper eating habits, and being active again. The bonus to all of it is that there are no medications and no more severe back pain.

I recommend giving Innovation Health an opportunity to see what they can do for you!

Return to Active Lifestyle – Tara N, age 35

Prior to this treatment, I was not really sure what I was doing. The issues that showed up on the MRI of my neck were serious, however I had learned to live with the symptoms for years. After the first treatment or two on decompression for my neck, I had regained senses I had thought were just part of the aging process. I could see better (no joke), I could hear better (no joke), and all the pinched nerves and tingling were gone by the 3rd week of treatment. But the best part for me was that with all these issues, I had no desire to attempt to exercise. Now I actually look forward to it (almost). Oh, and the TLC from the office staff is the most valuable part of the entire thing.  My problems were so bad that I was told by one doctor that my MRI looked like an ex-NFL football player. My neurologist was shocked when I told her I had never been in a bad accident. After completing my treatment on the DRX9000, I had no more tingling in my arms, my sinuses cleared up, and the strength in my arms returned. I want people to know that it’s totally worth it, the treatment is relaxing, and the benefits will shock you!
